There are three ways to bid at the Sundance Select Horse Sale.

We at Sundance Select Horse Sale appreciate all bids and interest in the sale, but we strongly encourage all buyers to visit the sale in person. We have set this sale up so that you have every opportunity to make absolutely sure the horse is a good fit because we want you to have the horse that's right for YOU!

Ways To Bid

In-Person Bidding
If you will be attending the sale in person you will need to visit our sale office to register for a bidder's number prior to the start of the auction. Our sale office will be located near the sale ring at the Ag building at the Crooks County Fairgrounds. Please have a valid photo ID when registering to bid. Please call the sale office with any questions.

Phone Bidding
If you cannot attend the sale and do not have good internet connection for online bidding, you can register to bid by phone by filling out the form below. A representative from the sale will give you a call one lot number ahead of the horse you are wanting to bid. Prior approval is needed for phone bidding.
Buyer Conditions

Buyer Registration: All buyers must register and receive a buyer’s number.

Payment: The terms of the sale are cash, credit card, cashier’s check. travelers check or personalized bank check. Bank drafts are not accepted. No postdated checks will be accepted. Payment in full must be made to cashier at the Sale Office during or immediately after the sale. All payments shall be in U.S. currency and on US banks only. All payments must made to "Sundance Select Horse Sale".

Phone Bids: All phone bids will be handled by a representative from Sundance Select Horse Sales. By signing up for phone bidding, you give Sundance Select Sale and its representatives to place bids on your behalf. If you are the winning bidder, the credit card you place on file will automatically be charged the final bid price plus a 3% convenience fee.

Internet Bids: All internet bids will be handled CCI Live. Buyers must make an account on CCI Live and register for a bidder number at the Sundance Select Horse Sale. A link to sign up will be posted on the Sundance Select Horse Sale website and Facebook Page once it is available. For additional information visit CCI Live.

Errors: Every effort has been made to assure the correctness of the catalog. The sales management and auctioneers are not responsible for error of omissions and assumes no liability on its part as to any statements verbal or written regarding horses sold. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention the auctioneer’s announcements as these announcements take precedence over the printed matter in the catalog.

In-Ring Disputes: If a dispute should arise between or among two or more bidders, the Auctioneer shall settle the dispute, and his decision shall be absolute, final and binding on all parties. Horses are at the buyer’s expense, risk, and responsibility from the instant the horse is knocked down by the auctioneer to that buyer.

Releases: Upon receiving payment for a horse, the cashiers will issue you all of your horse's paperwork along with a receipt which will be needed to leave with the horse. Buyers are cautioned not to lose this paperwork. Buyers must make arrangement for the care of horse(s) until it can be removed.

Seller Guarantees: The seller is responsible for any and all guarantees. Horse should be able to pass a full vet check, or otherwise noted in the catalog. All horses will be guaranteed within 72 hours from the end of the sale. Except as otherwise announced by the auctioneer, the consignor warrants the following:

Title of the horse is free and clear​

The animal is not a cribber, wind sucker, stall weaver or parrot mouthed

The animal has not been nerved or have navicular disease or is foundered

The sex or condition as a gelding or ridgling is as described in the sale catalog or announced at time of sale.

If any of these conditions are announced, the consignor is held harmless for the condition. Except for the forgoing limited warranties, each animal sold by the consignor without warranty and with all faults. Every horse is sold under this rule: therefore, no horses can be rejected by the buyer when struck off by the auctioneer. Prospective buyers are encouraged to examine horses thoroughly before purchasing. Buyer & seller understand and agree that Sundance Select Horse Sale is not responsible to perform any inspection or to independently confirm or verify the soundness of seller’s horse. Buyer & seller understand and agree that Sundance Select Horse Sale is unaware of the condition of seller’s horse, and therefore is relying solely upon representations made by seller regarding the condition of the horse and that the horse is sound in order to advertise and market the stated condition of the seller’s horse before and during the sale.

Disputes: In the event a dispute should arise as to a particular defect which should have been, but was not announced, the buyer has the right to have a veterinarian examine the horse he had purchased to determine if the horse suffers from the defect. This examination is to be made and Sundance Select Horse Sale is to be notified within 72 hours from the end of the sale in which the horse was sold. If the purchaser’s veterinarian determined the horse to have the alleged defect, the Sales Management as agent shall appoint a veterinarian of its choice to determine if the horse has the defect and if the defect was present at the time of sale. His or her decision will be final. If the veterinarian determines that the defect was present at the time of the sale and it was not announced, the sale of said horse shall be null and void and the consignor must pay entry fee and commission as contained in the consignors contract, and the cost of the veterinary examination and veterinary work performed on the horse as a result of the said defect. The sale of the said horse is valid and enforceable, and purchaser assumes all cost and examination and treatment.

Rightful Rejection: If the buyer rightfully rejects the animal in the manner stated above and within the time provided. The animal will be returned by the buyer to the consignor will refund to the buyer the full purchase price of the animal.

Title & Risk Of Loss: Title to and risk of loss passes to the buyer when the hammer drops. Immediately after the horse is sold, it will be the sole risk and responsibility of the buyer. All buyer's are strongly encouraged to get insurance on your horse(s) after purchasing. We will have an Equine Insurance Agent on premise at the sale to offer fall of hammer coverage so your horse is protected.

Coggins Test: All horses in this sale are to have a current negative Coggins.

Health Documents For Travel: If your horse will be traveling out of state for delivery to your home, it will need a brand inspection/CVI to travel. If you will need a brand inspection or CVI, please let the sale office know. Expense for the brand inspection/CVI will be $15 and the buyer's responsibility to pay for through the sale office.

Liability: Buyers and spectators are cautioned to be careful while on the grounds and particularly while horses are being shown or sold in the sale ring. Neither the owners nor any other person connected with this sale assume any liability legal or otherwise for accident to persons or property, before, during or after the sale. Notice Sundance Select Horse Sale acts as a selling agency only. Every horse in the sale catalog must pass through the sale ring and all monies pass through the office. All horses must be removed from grounds Sunday by 12:00 p.m.
